My research is situated broadly in the field of Roman architecture and urbanism, particularly in relation to the Roman building industry, including studies of Roman brickstamps, and Rome's port city of Ostia, where I am working on a long-term study on the urban development of the city. I am particularly interested in the relationship between architecture and society, which informs her recent volume on Roman architecture for the Oxford History of Art series (OUP, 2024).
